UFC Fight Night June 26 – Tips and Predictions

Hello, fight fans we are back, another week and another cracking night of fights to look forward to. The fight fans who have been following the UFC throughout 2020 know that some top-quality contenders are fighting on this card and it’s worth tuning in.

The card is being headlined by a potential title eliminator bout in the Heavyweight division. After this event, we take a break of a week and head straight to the T-Mobile Arena for the much-awaited Poirier McGregor Trilogy. The main event is the closest and most exciting fight of this card so let’s dive straight into it!

Ciryl Gane Vs Alexander Volkov

The tension in the room is palpable when two heavyweights meet in the center of the Octagon. Two of the most technically sound fighters on the roster will fight to determine the next contender to challenge for Heavyweight gold. We’re all set for an explosive main event war as Ciryl “Bon Gamin” Gane will put his undefeated record at Stake when he faces Alexander “Drago” Volkov.

Ciryl Gane is one of the most gifted fighters and the only undefeated top 5 contenders on the current UFC roster. Gane has passed every test given to him and he looks to exit the Octagon as he entered it this week, undefeated. Amassing a 5-0 start in the UFC, Gane has earned the spotlight on him as he looks to be the undisputed king of the heavyweights. He has never faced defeat in his professional combat sports career, with a clean 7-0 Muay Thai and 8-0 MMA record, he looks to keep his losses column empty.

Gane is one of the most well-rounded heavyweight fighters in UFC history, he has a strong gas tank, incredible Muay Thai, dangerous submission skills, and a high fight IQ. Gane believes he will conquer gold through his acumen and defeating Drago will make the statement he needs for that title fight.

Volkov is one of the rare Russian fighters who rely on striking as oppose to classic wrestling. Volkov is one of the most technical boxers in the UFC and he’s impressed fight fans with multiple performance bonus worthy performances. Volkov has beaten UFC veterans like Fabricio Werdum, Alistair Overeem, and Roy Nelson with ease which proves that he is a championship-level fighter.

Volkov has fallen short twice in the UFC in title-eliminating bouts against Derrick Lewis and Curtis Blaydes, but he has always made the required adjustments and came back stronger. Having knocked out his last two opponents, he now has a daunting 75% finish rate. He believes he has made the adjustments to finally win a title-eliminating top 5 bout and get his long-awaited shot at UFC gold.

This is set to be a high stakes fight between two fighters with a high-level fight IQ. Ciryl Gane is the more well-rounded fighter as his ground and clinch game are a genuine threat to his opponents whereas, Volkov has a more distance striking approach to his fights. Although Gane is a great striker, he will have to mix things up to get his hand raised as Volkov is a dangerous boxer.

Volkov’s path to victory is a tight boxing range and getting distant after throwing his punches to evade takedowns and counters. Contrarily Gane will look to use his body kicks and jabs to cover the distance and eventually get Volkov on the mat. Ultimately, we are siding with the favorite here as he should get the better of some of the exchanges and eventually be successful with his wrestling approach over 5 rounds.

7/10 heavyweight fights do not hit the judge’s scorecard and for the fight fans who believe either fighter can get it done in the distance, we have a great promotion for you. Fight fans will get double winnings if their selection gets it done inside the distance, so capitalize on this crazy promotion now.

Prediction – Ciryl Gane by Decision @ 2.90*
