Pink, Coral & Black Hello Kitty Inspired Party

Coral Pink Black Hello Kitty Party by Little Free Radical

For my Hello Kitty-obsessed daughter’s 5th birthday, I put together this party with Hello Kitty’s bow as the inspiration. I wanted to keep it looking classy and modern so I chose to use coral and light pink for the main colors with pops of black and white stripes and polka dots.

For the dessert table, I used a Hello Kitty piggy bank on the top of the cupcake stand, and made a cake bunting with twill chevron ribbon, black striped straws, and put Hello Kitty stickers on the ends to pull “Hello Kitty” into it. Then I cut out a large paper bow for the cake stand. Rather then doing a candy buffet, I filled clear tubes with white, pink and coral jelly beans for party favors.

For the dining table, I embroidered birthday hats for each of the girls that attended with their name/initial on it, and used them as part of the place setting.  I cut smaller paper bows for the straws and goody bags. For the centerpiece, I had a set of jars with straws, pink gum balls and white chocolate dipped pretzels.

Since we did ice cream sundaes, I lined a tray with black & white striped wrapping paper to put the toppings on. I also wrapped the whipped cream can with a piece of black & white striped scrapbook paper and added a bow to the can to pull the theme together.

For serving the ice cream sundaes, I had 2 neighbor girls come as “waitresses” help the younger girls make their sundaes. Instead of birthday hats, I embroidered their names onto their “waitress” aprons:
